Software Quality and Data governance is the department where just recently the diagnostic and recovery tooling groups became part of. Diagnostics and Recovery are important competences as these capabilities are key for our CS engineers in the field. Within our group we create recovery (sequence) tooling to best serve the needs for our colleagues in the factory and at the customer. We are creating new tools and maintain and extend existing diagnostic tooling.
As a Software Design Engineer/Software Architect diagnostic tooling product development you realize the product roadmap for software development in an efficient and conducting way. You understand the current situation and are able to achieve maintainable software architecture, which should be transparent and easy to extend. You also keep a strong focus on the software quality.
Within the Software Quality and data governance department the Diagnostic tooling and Sequencing groups address the area of diagnostics and sequencing. You will be end-to-end responsible for creating software in Java and Java EE, contributing to the development of several diagnostic applications in a scrum/Agile way of working. Diagnostic & Sequencing applications is done in several teams working together to deliver and integrate solutions to complex problems to enhance the diagnostic capabilities for our customers.
Within one of the teams you take initiative to address user stories and you cooperate with other software team members. You will work with Team leads, Architects, Product Project leaders. In this position you will act as software professional. You apply software engineering practices such as requirements engineering (user story definition), object oriented analysis and design, implementation in Java, testing, and integration. You will be gaining knowledge on diagnostics and the application of the Litho process by our customers.
Context of the position
As a Software design engineer you will be working closely with your stakeholders. In order to realize new software functionality you will need to agree with system engineering on system specifications realized in software. Actively seek interaction with the Software Architects to review designs and contribute to the improvement of our Software architecture. You work closely with your peers to create a software impact analysis for new features, to decide on detailed software design, participate in design reviews and pair programming. Software test and integration is an important aspect of our work, hence you need to sit together with Software test and integration to align on test specifications and Software testing in order to meet the quality standards.
From a project management perspective close cooperation with the (multi-disciplinary) project leader, Software team leader to provide effort estimates for Software plan creation and updates for progress reporting. You will interact with your Software group leader to participate in Software roadmap definition, Software competence development and personal development discussions
